Arrived onsite for water heater service. System’s pilot light will not stay lit. Found a fault in the flame safety system. Also found the burner has been silicone sealed to the water heater. There is a high likelihood the burner could be damaged in trying to repair the water heater which will make things worse. Homeowner agreed the best course of action is to replace entire water heater. He may be interested in financing.
